The new education policy was approved by the Narendra Modi's cabinet on 29th July in 2020. This education has been brought to bring complete change in India which last reformed in 1986.

Education Secretary Amit Khare said we remove all different standards criteria for different standalone institutions. The new education policy states that the eligubility criteria will be the same for everyone, not according to caste system And increase education spending to about 6% of total GDP.
The central government has approved the new education policy, 2020.  The Ministry of Human Resource Development has been renamed as Ministry of Education.  In the new education policy 10 + 2 policy has been completely replaced by 5+3+3+4 school structure.


According to new education policy, 2020 the first five years of school will include three years of pre-primary school or Anganwadi. Remaining three years will be divided into preparation phase of three and four standards.

  1. Board exams will be remodel and all exams will be based on knowledge aptitude and discouraging memorizing theory.
  2. According to new educaton system student got certificate in first year, diploma certificate after second year and degree certificate after 3-4 years during graduation.

  4. The Cabinet ministry has decided to increase education spending to about 6% of GDP which is currently about 1.17%.
  5. The school curriculum will be reduced to the main concept with integrated of mandatory vocational education from class 6th standard.
